MAGGIE EXONERATED

-Cape Cod Mass.
Today in Dennisport, Maggie Bach, beagle owned by Christina Bach, was aquitted of all charges related to the burglary of two of her grandfather's shoes. Turns out, Grandpa found said shoes in the guest room. When asked for comment, Peter stated, "I'm happy things have worked themselves out." Maggie Bach could not be reached for comment.

Feather and Fan-tastic Progress

Well I can't figure out how to move pics yet after I post them, so, here are 4 photos of the koigu extravaganza in progress and one of King Gus, hogging the bed and looking incredibly cute.

This is a real conversation...

"I know nothing about missing shoes."
-Maggie Bach

Dad "Chris, I need to talk to Maggie."
Chris "Maggie isn't here right now, can I help you with something?"
Dad "No, Chris, I really NEED to talk to Maggie."
Chris "Well, she's not here. What is going on?"
Dad "I'm missing two left shoes and I think Maggie might know something about it."
Chris "Maggie pleas the 5th...she's lawyering up."

1) Dear Dad, we love you, but MAGGIE CAN'T TALK. All questions regarding said beagle should be forwarded to her legal guardian, Christina.
2) We know nothing about any stinkin' shoes. But, check the pile under the hemlock...I've got a hunch.
3) There are four other suspects, Maggie is just the most convienent to blame said missing shoes on.

Hot time, summer in the city

Back of my neck feeling dirty and gritty.

Okay, got that off my chest. Wow, it is just oppressive. And to top it off, the mosquitos are biting the heck out of me and I can't stop itching! I also have a sick bagle (Maggers). I think the hot or, perhaps eating a leather chair, is getting to her.

Must spend the evening scrapbooking (finally on to Scotland!) and knitting and watching the Phillies take their 3 game win streak on the road to Houston.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture of Maggie. She looks so grown up! Posted by Picasa

60 Minutes Syndrome

Sadly, the end of the weekend is upon me and I'm suffering from a severe case of "60 Minutes Syndrome." You know, the way you feel when "60 mins" comes on at 7pm and Sunday and there is this unbelievable realization that they weekend is over. You take stock of all you have and more importantly have not accomplished over the weekend and start to freak out. Coupled with the knowledge that it is going to be in the mid 90's for much of the week and you know you won't get a damn thing done after work all week.

So, that being said, here we are on another Sunday evening. The pups are sleeping soundly as we just had a nice long walk over to see Aunt Header. I have mastered walking three of them at a time (I think) and aside from the mosquito bites, it was quite enjoyable. Header and I also picked more blueberries and I made amazing scones.

How about my fightin Phils? A sweep of the weekend series of the NL Worst leading San Diego Padres. I went to the game yesterday with the Wynne's, which was a rockin' good time with my buddies Alex and Sammy.

I also finished Harry Potter. It was great. I can't believe I have to wait two years for the next (and last) book to come out. 6 months prior I'll plan to start reading them again. Until then, I'll have to rely on other sources of entertainment.

5 days until Cape Cod and the beach!! Giddyup!

Im hoping to finish the knitting of the poncho by then--I don't understand the finishing directions at all, but oh well, I'll figure it out.

FEATHER AND FAN-TASTIC

This is my newest knitting project: Koigu Feather and Fan Scarf, inspired by Jim. I'm using multiple multi-colors and knitting each color for about 4 inches (9 pattern repeats).

I think it looks pretty cool!!! But then again, I love koigu and even if the colors don't transition "perfectly" it still looks pretty darn cool

Meet El Cemento

This is my dad's 70 lb cement beagle that welcomes visitors to the joy house.
Murphy barks at it incessantly if it is within sight, and thus we've had to remove it from his view.

Everytime I pull in the driveway he scares the crap out of me...

Living in a Rainforest

Yes, even though the map says that I live in PHILADELPHIA, the truth of the matter is I live in the middle of the amazon rain forest where it is SUPPOSED to be this humid everyday. Oh for the love of GOD it is moist out. I swear, this is one of the worst stretches of nasty humidity in my Pennsylvania career. And it is supposed to last for a while...no end in sight. Okay maybe Wednesday the humidity might be a bit less, but it will still be at least 90 degrees out, so that doesn't count. Oh, and it rains, everyday, around 5pm for a few hours. Last night we had some great thunder, though it scared the bejesus out of Molly and wouldn't you know, she peed on my new rug when she heard a huge clap of thunder. Then, in the midst of the thunder storm, I look outside and notice my downspout is completely blocked and I've got about 6 inches of rain water collecting on my porch roof. So, yes, when the lightening subsisded, I climbed out onto the roof and broke open the obstruction, creating a huge river between my front yard and my neighbors. It was cool

So, I also spent the weekend with the Wereley LoGuidice's and have posted pics of my girls, Hannah and Emma. Next week we hit Cape Cod together. I'm forever in Meg and Steve's debt for introducing me to crocs, quite possibly the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I love them and may never take them off.

Now I must go do some "social" work

Harry Potter Hysteria!!!

It is finally here! Book six of the beloved Harry Potter series. Yeah, I know, I'm 33 years old---but I love the books a much as the eight year old in line next to me. So, I went to a Harry Potter Party on Friday night to purchase my book at midnight. It wa a fun filled event, complete with lightning bolt tatoos, wand making and magic. Finally at midnight, they started selling the books. First, to those who had pre-reserved their books and then to the rest of us who didn't. By 1245 am I was heading home with my Harry book in my hot little hands. Now, unlike my sister Allison and my dear friend Heather, I didn't read the entire thing in one day. I prefer to savor it. And so, to those who HAVE finished it, LEAVE ME ALONE and don't tell me anything! GOT IT????

Enjoy my photo of me a Harry

Bobby Abreu: Home Run King

I am so excited that Bobby rocked the home run derby. And then, he follows it up with a lead off single in the all-star game. Of course, national league pitching sucked big time...and now those damn red sox will have home field advantage in the world series. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.

Beagle Wrestling and Abreu dominates first round of home run derby

Bobby hits 24 in the first round of the home run derby! Who'da thunk it?
It was truly amazing to watch one of my favorite Phillies kick off the home run derby with such style. Lets see how he does in the next round(s).

Included are pics from tonights beagle wrestling match.

I forgot TINY MOLLY

I was just looking at my recent posts and realized I didn't post any of the gorgeous Ms. Molly!
I'm a terrible beagle mommy!
