Silk Garden Scarf

So this is the silk garden "lace" scarf. The pattern is from Weekend Knitting and the original is knit in Lopi. Here's my version:

Now I'm little unhappy about the rollage of the ribbing, but I think with some blocking I can wip it into shape. Which brings me to my next question...does anyone own blocking wires...are they worth the investment?

Hey -- I own some blocking wires and totally love them. It makes blocking out long straight edges much easier -- you don't get the little 'puckers' from the pins.

Oh girl, you have to get blocking wires. It makes your lace so much easier to block. Knitpicks has a set that are nice and pretty inexpensive.

I luv 'em. I don't need so many cat-enchanting T-pins and I can get a really straight edge.

I can loan you mine and you can try them out for yourself.

Oh My GOSH! You really need to get yourself some blocking wires!

I got mine from Fiber Fantasy about 5 years ago. They make lace so much easier to block.

Good luck with your poor foot!

LOVING those colors!

I don't have the blocking wires, but it now sounds like something I have to get!

That is beautiful! How do you block all that lace without blocking wires girl?

I personally just went to Home Depot and got some fine gauge wire that I could bend at will. It is a lot cheaper and you can cut it to whatever size you like.

Blocking wires are fab, whether you buy them, cut wire hangers, or go to your hardware store. On something that small you could just do Russian blocking.
